Session Shepherd

Your tabs, herded — a Chrome extension for saving, organizing, previewing, and restoring browser sessions.

The problem

Browser tabs are cheap to open and expensive to close. Over a day, “I’ll just keep this around” turns into fifty tabs and a vague sense of guilt. Bookmarks aren’t the answer — they’re a graveyard. What you want is a session: the handful of tabs that represent this task, this bug, this research spike.

Session Shepherd is a small, sharp Chrome extension that saves and restores those sessions without turning into another system you have to maintain.

Core capabilities

  • Save the current window as a named session
  • Organize sessions with tags, categories, and notes
  • Search and filter sessions in a full-page dashboard
  • Preview saved tabs before restoring
  • Restore sessions in one click
  • Keyboard shortcuts for power-user flows
  • Light and dark UI modes

Privacy model

Session Shepherd is designed to keep data local to your machine.

Session data is stored via Chrome local storage and is not uploaded to external services.
